Some dogs refuse to drink from a hydration bladder or a water bottle even if they are thirsty. Does this sound like your dog? If you hike or travel often with your dog, I recommend getting a collapsible bowl.
A water bowl is one of the essential gear when hiking with a dog. Just be sure it’s 100% pet safe. Xena’s bowls are made of food-grade silicone and BPA free. They are light and compact to take anywhere. Even if your dog is trained to drink water from your hydration bladder, it’s nice for her to have a bowl of her own at the summit.
I always keep a collapsible bowl in the car. Many collapsible bowls come with a carabiner clip so you can clip it onto a backpack or a travel bag. Or better yet, let her carry her own bowl.

When my dogs backpacked with me, they carried their own food, water, and a collapsible bowl… treats too. And they got their water filled when I got mine filled, but I helped coordinate that part! They loved it, as did I!
Backpacking is a great reason for them to carry their own gear. I am sure you were a great alpha and your pups loved backpacking with you!
