Personalized Coaching
Personalized Support for Your Hiking Journey
Whether you’re preparing for a major hike, building confidence on the trails, or wanting to feel stronger and more connected outdoors, personalized coaching gives you the structure, guidance, and encouragement to get there.
My approach blends practical training with mindful, holistic support — so you’re not just checking off miles, you’re learning how to listen to your body, trust your instincts, and enjoy the journey.
What Coaching Includes
Every coaching plan is tailored to your goals, experience level, and lifestyle. Depending on what you need, our work together may include:
- Route planning and trail recommendations
- Strength, mobility, and conditioning guidance
- Gear support and packing essentials
- Hydration and fueling strategies
- Confidence‑building for solo or group hiking
- Mindset support for longer or more challenging routes
- Accountability and check‑ins to keep you moving forward
Each session meets you where you are, and helps you take the next step with clarity and confidence.
Why People Choose Coaching
Hiking goals can feel overwhelming when you’re trying to figure everything out alone. Coaching gives you:
- A clear, personalized plan
- Expert guidance rooted in lived experience
- Support that adapts as your goals evolve
- A safe space to ask questions and learn without judgment
- Encouragement that keeps you motivated and grounded
Whether you’re training for a bucket‑list trail or simply wanting to feel stronger outdoors, you don’t have to do it alone.
Who Coaching Is For
Coaching is a great fit if you:
- Are preparing for a specific hiking goal with a set timeline (preferred) — such as the Camino de Santiago, Mt. Baldy, or the Machu Picchu Inca Trail
- Are already somewhat active and want to integrate hiking into your routine
- Want to build strength, endurance, or trail confidence
- Are returning to hiking after injury
- Prefer personalized guidance over group instruction
- Want support that blends physical training with mindful, holistic practices
A Note About Readiness for In‑Person Coaching
For in‑person coaching, I work with clients who are already somewhat active and have cardio exercise as part of their weekly routine — for example, walking daily or a few times a week, cycling, or swimming, etc. This baseline helps us safely and effectively build toward your hiking goals.
If you’re just beginning your movement journey or want to ease into hiking at a gentler pace, I recommend starting with my beginner-friendly small-group nature walks or gentle hikes and build up to weekend small‑group hikes, which are designed to help you build consistency and confidence in a supportive community. How Coaching Works
Choose the format that fits your needs and schedule:
In‑Person Coaching — $95/hr
Ideal for hands‑on support, movement assessments, and guided practice. Sessions take place on trails throughout Southern California, primarily in the Los Angeles area. Best for clients with a clear hiking goal and an established baseline of activity.
Virtual Coaching — $75/hr
Perfect for clients outside the area or those who prefer flexible scheduling. We meet via video, and you’ll receive personalized guidance, training support, and follow‑up notes. Great for structured planning, accountability, and long‑term goal preparation.
Session Structure
Each session includes:
- A check‑in to understand how you’re feeling
- Goal‑aligned coaching and training guidance
- Space for questions, adjustments, and real‑time support
- Clear next steps so you know exactly what to focus on
You can book single sessions or build a multi‑session plan depending on your goals.

Testimonial
The 1:1 format felt right for me. In larger groups, I tend to worry about holding people back. Individual coaching allowed the hikes to be tailored to my level, and I received specific guidance on technique — foot placement, stance, breathing, pacing — all of it. The regular schedule makes a big difference. If it were random meetups, there would be no real structure to my growth. I need that structure. It also allows ongoing assessment — choosing the hike that’s right for that particular week.
