Waihe’e Ridge Trail

I recently traveled to Maui.  Even though Xena didn’t travel with me, I checked out a dog friendly trail while vacationing there. The trailhead is located near Waihee-Waiehu off route 340.  As we were making our way up to the trailhead, it started to drizzle.  By the time we arrived at the trailhead around 12:30 pm, it was raining.  But you do stuff you wouldn’t normally do at home when you travel.  Right?  After discussing it for 15 minutes (ha!  I never said I was a die-hard adventurer.), we decided to hit the trails. I am glad we did because even though the view was limited due to inclement weather, I still had fun exploring the beautiful island!  I even managed to take some photos to share.  And when we were done, we were glad that we had beach towels and dry clothes waiting for us in the car.  πŸ™‚

The trail was well maintained and a distance marker was posted at every 1/2 mile.  The trail itself does not have waterfalls, but we were able to see one in the distance.

Views from the trail on a sunny day can be found on Alltrails.com. Β I recommend you start hikingΒ before 9Β am. Β We were told that the clouds roll in everyday around noon.
