I recently traveled to Maui. Even though Xena didn’t travel with me, I checked out a dog friendly trail while vacationing there. The trailhead is located near Waihee-Waiehu off route 340. As we were making our way up to the trailhead, it started to drizzle. By the time we arrived at the trailhead around 12:30 pm, it was raining. But you do stuff you wouldn’t normally do at home when you travel. Right? After discussing it for 15 minutes (ha! I never said I was a die-hard adventurer.), we decided to hit the trails. I am glad we did because even though the view was limited due to inclement weather, I still had fun exploring the beautiful island! I even managed to take some photos to share. And when we were done, we were glad that we had beach towels and dry clothes waiting for us in the car. π
Trailhead – Parking lot and portable restroom available
The trail was well maintained and a distance marker was posted at every 1/2 mile. The trail itself does not have waterfalls, but we were able to see one in the distance.
Views from the trail on a sunny day can be found on Alltrails.com. Β I recommend you start hikingΒ before 9Β am. Β We were told that the clouds roll in everyday around noon.
