I am so stoked!! Most of you already know that I took a hiking trip to Alaska last summer. After the trip, I entered in to the 2016 guest photo contest hosted by Backroads. I received a notification email today from them that I am a finalist!! Backroads selected 30 photos out of 10,000+ submissions
Girdwood is located 39 miles south east from Anchorage. We had a big day ahead. We packed our lunch and snacks and met for shuttle to Crow Pass Trailhead in Girdwood. I was still elated from hiking the Harding Icefield Trail the day before. Little I knew, I was going to have another fantastic sensory overloading hike.
Seward is 126.5 miles south east from Anchorage. Day 3 was an easy day. Due to the last minute trail condition change, our original hiking plan was changed. Instead, we hiked 4.6 miles (RT) – more like a nature walk – to Lower Russian River Falls and watched salmons. I sprayed myself insane amount of bug
Homer is about 45 minutes south from Anchorage by plane. I arrived at Homer around 7 am on Saturday. In a few hours, I would meet my Backroads travel peers and we would begin our week-long exploration in Kenai Peninsula. I got a taxi from the airport and headed to Land’s End where my group would be
