Hey guys! Hope everyone is well and enjoying the summer as much as you can during this pandemic. Just wanted to check in and say hi!
August just flew by. While this year seems like the longest year ever, each week is flying by. I don’t know how that is, but it just is.
We managed to go camping for a few days last week. Guess who learned to swim on our camping trip!! I wanted this for Xena for years. Now that she’s getting older, I wanted this for her even more. If you’ve been following our adventures for a while, you know I’ve been working with her on fear of water every summer. So this was a huge win!
I am thrilled that this is no longer a dream! And the fact that she loves it makes this even better because it doesn’t feel like I am getting ready for her senior years. Instead, now we have an additional fun activity we can do together. Xena swimming in the lake was definitely the highlight of the trip for me. I will share the photos from the trip soon!
When I got back, I got an email from Feedspot informing me that my blog made the Top 15 Dog-Friendly Travel Blogs & Websites For Dog Owners in 2020. Cool, right?
If you are not familiar with Feedspot Blog Reader, it’s an online space where you can get all your favorite blogs, podcasts, and YouTube channels in one place. They have a team to discover and rank popular blogs, podcasts, and YouTube channels in 1500 niche categories, so you don’t have to! I know, it’s an insane number of categories! Be sure to check it out for yourself.
Well, these are two things that happened this month worth mentioning. Oh, and that I am SO ready for fall. I began adding new hikes on my calendar already, a natural planner that I am.
Looking forward to getting back to our normal hiking life.
Xena is the cutest dog!
I have to agree! 🙂
Looking forward to cooler fall weather and kids back in school, then it’s time for some backpacking along SHT (Superior Hiking Trail) when the bugs are gone. Glad Xena remembered she could swim… she’s a lab! Hope CA cools off too! Best to you out there!
Thanks, Mike! It’s finally cooling off but now with these wildfires everywhere… I am two hours away from the closest fire. Today, though, I saw the first blue sky in weeks this morning! It’s promising 🤞 Have you gone backpacking as you planned?
No backpacking, just day hikes in some regional parks. Warming up this week… work to do around the house before the cold moves in for the season, then it will be backyard campfires!
Backyard campfires sound lots of fun!
