Throwback Thursday: Introduction to Running

Xena was about 4 1/2 months old when I took her out for the first time on a trail for a short run. At first, she was confused. Then she thought we were playing a game. I jogged and she chased after me. During the entire first mile, she chased and tried to pounce on me. She got my behind if she timed it right but mostly she pounced on my leg. She made everyone on the trail smile and got lots of “awwwww”. She enjoyed running with me for a short while …until she discovered a game called “fetch”. She didn’t see a point of running on a leash for no particular reason after that. 😝
