By This one is a must when you visit Los Angeles! You get great views of downtown LA and the Hollywood sign from multiple locations during the hike. You will hike by Griffith Observatory so you can take a break and visit Griffith Observatory if you have time. I especially like this one because it ends with (optional) yummy lunch! But hey, that’s me.
With so many trails available at Griffith Park, someone would’ve come up with names for them. But No! With so many trails and a lot of crossing points, it is easy to get lost in Griffith Park. Since most of the trails do not have names, it’s impossible to provide you decent directions. I will leave a link to the trail map of this particular hike below.
I enjoy this urban hike between December and March even though it’s open all year round. Heat can get brutal during summer.
If you park near The Trails, a cafe in the park, you can complete this hike with lunch. There was a wait to order but much to my surprise, the food came out pretty fast. Check out the avocado sandwich. It was delicious! A huge slice of a vegan pear pie didn’t stand a chance for a photoshoot. Gosh, that was SO GOOD! Plenty of park benches were available. I can’t wait to go back and try their other homemade vegan pies.

Good to Know:
- Find parking near The Trails (2333 Fern Dell Dr, Los Angeles, CA 90027). There are multiple trailheads.
- Avoid the middle of the day during summer as this trail is exposed.
