Fawnskin is 95 miles east of Los Angeles. The trailhead is located in Fawnskin (north of Big Bear Lake) across from the Grout Bay Picnic Area. It was easy to find and there was plenty of parking when we arrived. I was nicely surprised by a flush toilet! Those things are hard to come by
Two words can describe our hot August. Beach and Sunset. When we were not at the beach bumming, we enjoyed short evening hikes and watched the sun set over the Pacific Ocean. You just never know what color sunset you’d get until it happens but one thing is for sure, there is something magical and soothing
We took a break from hiking in August. With multiple heat waves, it was just too hot for us. Instead we made a few trips to the beach to beat the heat. I hope everyone had a great summer! Xo~
