By It’s no secret that well-fitting clothes are essential both on and off the trails if you want to look great, and who doesn’t? When KÜHL reached out to me for a product review of their women’s pants, I was thrilled! The KÜHL brand is well-known in the outdoor world, and I was eager to give their products a try.
After browsing through their collections and series online, I decided on the Haven Joggr, which won the “Best Hiking Pant” award from Outside Magazine’s 2023 Summer Gear Guide. I’ve been wearing them for months now, and spoiler alert, I love these pants. Here’s why.

The UPF 50+ protection, pull-on waist, and relaxed fit make these pants ideal for hiking and traveling.
While Black and Black Olive are the most popular colors, they were out of stock, so I opted for Twilight. I was pleasantly surprised by how pretty the color is in person. In pictures, it looks like lavender, but in reality, it’s closer to blue.
The thin elastic external drawcord can be easily tucked under a shirt for a clean look.
The pants feature covered zippered pockets and a deep drop-in cell phone pocket on the side, which is perfectly placed for convenience.
Typically a size 4, I find the Small fits comfortably without being loose. While I have more room in the thigh areas compared to the model picture, it still maintains a flattering fit.
One challenge with the Haven Joggr is that it only comes in one inseam length – REG(28″). If you typically wear Petite or Tall, you may find the one-size-fits-all length problematic. At 5’6″, the bottom cuffs sit right at my ankle bone.
Function – 4.5/5
The durable and stretchy fabric of the Haven Joggr makes it ideal for rugged outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, and traveling.
The bottom cuffs don’t constrict my ankles, making them comfortable, but they didn’t prevent small bugs from getting in for a bite.
I found the Haven Joggr too lightweight to wear during January and February in Southern California. However, now in July, they are comfortable, making them ideal for spring, summer, and fall seasons.
Although keeping my cell phone in the drop-in pocket doesn’t restrict my movement while hiking hills, I don’t like feeling it there, so I don’t use it. However, it’s perfect for walking around town, running errands, or taking dog walks.
Quality and Durability – 5/5
The Haven Joggr is lightweight, stretchy, and durable. Unlike leggings, I haven’t had any issues with them getting snagged or ripped by branches or rocks.
I appreciate the thorough and clean stitching, as well as the details around the front and back zippered pockets and the drop-in cell phone pocket on the side. These features reflect the high quality of the pants.

The Haven Joggr is lightweight, comfortable, and expertly crafted. The durable, stretchy fabric makes them perfect for rugged outdoor activities like hiking, camping, and traveling, yet they are stylish enough for running errands or strolling around town. With a single inseam option, these pants are best suited for individuals around 5’6″ to 5’8″ tall with muscular legs.
